Organizations taking part range from start-up innovators to public sector heroes, tech superstars, global titans and everything in between. Irrespective of organization size, industry or resources, all Winners and Finalists shared how their initiatives are transforming the people experience and delivering tangible value for their organizations.

Leader of the Year: Lisa DiPaolo, EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer at Karyopharm Therapeutics (Highly Commended: Caroline Gammon, HRIS Manager & Acting VP of Happiness at Zift Solutions)

Rising Star of the Year: Brittany Brazell, HR Manager at Our Children's Trust

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was awarded 'HR Initiative of the Year' for its innovative ‘Engagement with Purpose’ model. This initiative, structured around career development, lifelong learning, and health and wellbeing, led to significant internal mobility, with 25,000 employees transitioning to new roles and 30% of talent needs being met internally. Additionally, TCS achieved an industry-leading 78% average engagement score over three years and maintained the lowest attrition rate in the IT sector at 13% for 2024. Overall, Judges commended a ‘robust’, ‘well-structured’, and ‘comprehensive’ initiative.

Lisa DiPaolo, Chief Human Resources Officer at Karyopharm Therapeutics, took home ‘Leader of the Year’ for her ‘transformative’ impact. Over the past two years, Lisa has revitalized Karyopharm's HR team, aligning it with the company's core values of Innovation, Courage, Alignment & Accountability, Resilience, and Energy. Her leadership has led to a notable 13% improvement in employee satisfaction and the introduction of the KaryoFlex flexible working model, which supports work-life balance and has attracted top talent. Lisa’s efforts have also been recognized by Newsweek and the Boston Globe. Judges praised Lisa for providing ‘concrete examples of excellence in action’.

Brittany Brazell, HR Manager at Our Children’s Trust, was awarded ‘Rising Star of the Year’ for her impactful contributions to employee wellness and innovative approach. Brittany implemented an employer-funded health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) to enhance support for out-of-network mental health and prioritize employee access to appropriate care. She also streamlined the leave process, providing clear, empathetic support to employees navigating personal situations. Known for her effective communication and accessibility, Brittany balances productivity with healthy work boundaries while sharing valuable wellbeing resources with her peers. In summary, the Judges praised Brittany’s ‘amazing accomplishment’ as an ‘HR department of one’.
